God's Amazing Miracle

The most amazing miracle has happened to us! In a way that only God can provide, we have just received news that He has provided a baby boy for us to adopt! We are thrilled beyond belief, and also pretty shocked! I know many of you reading this are also SHOCKED and so here's our story - we hope it glorifies God and reminds us all that He takes care of us down to the very last detail. He does give us the desires of our hearts!

For the past year, Paul and I have been “looking into” and praying about adopting. In November of 2008 just after our 2nd anniversary, we were told by doctors that our chances to have children on our own were very slim. This was really hard, but to be honest God gave us such a gift of faith and we knew that we would be parents someday. So, throughout this past year we did check out two different adoption agencies, but for different reasons (Paul changing jobs, moving this summer, etc.) we hesitated in moving forward with either of the agencies. Of course, God's timing is perfect and so, now we understand why He didn't allow us to forward with them!
About a week ago, my mom called me with the news that a girl she knows is pregnant, having some problems with the current adoption agency and adoptive couple she’d been working with, and now at 8 months pregnant, was potentially looking for a new adoptive couple! When we heard this, we felt a huge range of emotions from, "Could this be God's answer to our prayers?" to "Ah! Are we ready!??!?!", to not wanting to think to much about it just in case it fell through. So we began praying about it…not really knowing how seriously to think about it and if it would work out.

Then, on Monday, December 21st we got a phone call from my mom where she told us that the birth mother was open to us adopting the baby and wanted to meet with us! WOW! We were floored, but felt so blessed and excited! We met with the adoption attorneys Kirsh and Kirsh on Tuesday afternoon to get council on what we needed to do legally, called to schedule a home study, then met with the birth mother later that evening. We really connected with the birth mother and came to a mutual agreement that Paul and I would be adopting a baby!!!! SO, we are going to parents of a baby boy! Ah!!! We are thrilled and praising God!

Here are the details:
- We’ll be adopting a healthy white, baby boy. We're working on his name!
- The birth mother is due on January 25th and will be having the baby at Community North Hospital in Indianapolis.
- We will be contacted as soon as she goes into labor and will have our own room in the hospital. We’ll be the first to hold the baby boy as soon as he is born and will be the ones taking care of him in the hospital! We're so excited and thankful for this!

Prayer Requests:
- Please pray that the birth father signs the legal papers before the baby is born. This allows us to adopt the baby without us needing to take any further legal action.
- We are also asking for prayers that all the needed details will be taken care of, including our home study to be completed before the baby is born. The home study is done by a social worker and then processed through the county courts. If we are not able to get the home study done before the baby is born, we will have to do a legal guardianship which would add an extra $1000 or more to the total cost.
- Pray for Paul and I to be emotionally and spiritually prepared.
- Please pray for our financial means to support the legal fees for the adoption. God has also blessed us in this area by bringing the birth mother to us, therefore taking out the huge cost of an agency finding the baby for us. Our total costs are estimated around $9,000-$10,000. You are welcome to donate to us and our new baby boy by clicking on the PayPal donate button!

We are truly blown away by God's goodness to us. He promises to provide, He promises that we can trust Him - and He is always, always, always faithful!
We are also so thankful for each of you who support us, love us, and will help us to raise a Godly baby boy! I can't say enough how good God is to us! He still performs miracles!
